It’s not hard to find the art scene in Charleston. Simply take to the sidewalks. Galleries line the streets and make their homes in 19th-century storefronts, revamped auto-repair shops and state-of-the-art (pun intended) new construction. Gallery Row on historic Broad Street is a good place to start. You’ll find about 15 galleries here, with another two dozen on the surrounding streets. Charleston’s evocative beauty has inspired painters and artisans for more than 300 years, and now, their work inspires others.
